My Garden!!

Where we live we have no yard or grass. BUT! We do have a wee patch of dirt by our kitchen window.
When we bought this place, it had lava rocks and weeds in it. We didn't know what was underneath it.
We pulled it all up, put a layer of compost and manure on it. The dirt where i live is *very* heavy clay, so the compost/manure helped break it up somewhat. And then we planted some plants in it. Some lived, some did not. But over the last 3 or so summers we've just watered and kept it as clean as we could and the plants that did survive got really big!lol

This summer, Kreg and i decided to try our hand at gardening!

Heres the before pics:
We thinned the bed out *quite a bit* before this pic was taken, but you get the idea:

So what we did was pull everything out and moved it to one big wine barrel (except the ground cover). We then built that bed up for veggies. We bought wine/whiskey barrels and put them back on our patio for what we couldnt fit into the bed.

So here's the transformation:

Everythings been pulled out, and the bed is getting built up (and the wood is reclaimed):

Our patio is bigger than the others in our complex, its super long. And its been really hard for us to turn it into some sort of usable space for the summer/fall. So we've never really used it much until now.

SCARDY CAT!!:
K, this plant is the freakin' BOMB!! If you have dogs of cats or other animals pooping in your beds, plant this, it'll help LOADS! It stinks to high heaven, but its better than having your beds used as a toilet.

Ill get more pics in the next few days, the finished barrels and bed looks awesome, we've also got some little tomato buds already!! The peas have almost doubled their size since Friday.
