Summer break starts shortly and so my mind and heart have been focused on summer activities and my family. Instead of my blog.lol
This year we have some great plans!! We are all super duper excited for the adventures to come our way. This year is different for us in a aspects.
A) Debt will be nearly non existent/nearly all paid off for the first time in about 7 years! We are thrilled and beyond thankful for this. Our debt has held us back from really doing much of anything. So now we feel like we have more freedom to venture out and travel mor ethan what we have bene able to do.
B) Klaire is at an age that allows us to be away from home for a long period of time and not have to pack 10 suitcases to do so.lol Shes also at the point where shes starting to appreciate the the places we want to take her. So its become alot more fun for us to go places.
C) We have a reliable vehicle. Enough said. ;)
D) Kreg has worked super super hard to save a little time off for the 3 of us to escape for a short time and have fun. Kreg is able to take very little time off for anything, so he has saved and saved this time off for this summer.
So to some people these may seem like minor details, but for us, they have really impacted and dictated our decisions and choices in what we can do.
So with that we look forward to what the summer will bring!
During the week Klaire and i have 3 wekly activities her and i will do for most of the day together. On the weekends we have 2 family outings we will rotate through the month. And then we have one HUGE family camping trip planned over the weekend of the 4th. Plus we will do our regular trips to the Farmers Market and whatnot. So while its going to be fairly busy, we are looking forward to the fun that we will be having!
And for the first time Gma Deen will be having some extra time off work and wont have to be a surrogate mom to a grandchild. So we are super excited to have her more involved in Klaire's life while she can. Klaire is super excited to have Gma to herself for a bit. And i don't lame her one bit!lol
Kreg is doing great! Im so proud of him as always. Recently he has taken the necessary steps to get himself back into school. The school he has gone to in the past hasn't been very accommodating to Kreg and he has struggled a good bit with it. The new school will be alot better for him in my opinion, he already seems to really like the concept and how things work. His instructor seems more than willing to get him the education he needs and to do whatever it takes!
This has been a hard choice for him to make, but it feels like the right time for us both. In years past there's been enormous amounts of pressure for him to go back and he hasn't responded well at all to that pressure, understandably.
The tuition has worked out beautifully for us, the timing seems perfect, and his time to go to school and do homework is working out as well. So as everything has fallen in place Kreg and i have gotten pretty excited for the possible changes this will bring into our home.
Once he is done im thinking about going back and finishing the Dental program i started. The neat thing is that i will have to do admission testing, and then i can basically pick up where i left off. I will have to retest the previous stuff ive already learned, but its not that hard and i can breeze through it wihtin a matter of a few days/weeks. But i wont have to repeat alot of the clinical stuff ive already done. Im kinda scared but kinda excited! We will see how it pans out, my tuition will be more, so it may not be the right time for me to return, which im OK with for now.
Klaire is as fantastic as she can be! Shes a rockstar! Shes finishing up the 1st grade already. Shes almost as tall as Kregs mom is.LOL! Her reading is doing so well, we are so proud of her. And shes super excited for all the fun we have planned this summer. Recently she has taken up an interest in Rugby. Like her dad! We are trying to get her into a girls league locally, she seems to have a real talent for it, and frankly, this is the first thing she has really shown interest in.lol So if shes interested, i say why not let her have a shot at it?!?! Other than that shes perfectly healthy and sweet as pie, most days.lol Im looking forward to having my little buddy back for the summer.
Well, i have a date with a really old friend of mine soon. I haven't seen her for a good year or so. Ill update more as the week carries on.
