{WHILE THE FAMILY IS AWAY}

I have a few minutes to update on the happenings 'round this place of ours.

First and foremost, Kreg and i celebrated our 8 year anniversary!!! WOOT!
He took me to The Roof restaurant this year. He suprised me with a special bouquet of flowers that were gorgeous! And then we spent the evening at temple square and took some pretty pictures. It was perfect, it was lovely, and it was quiet. It was great having a break with each other.
We are awesome. 8 freaking fracking years with this wonderful dude of mine.
I love him more than i ever thought i would, and each day i find one more thing about him to be thankful for.
7 years ago, we were sealed in the Bountiful Temple. It was amazing. As much as i still yearn to have had my family with me, it was a very very special day for me, my hubby, and our kid. I will never forget it. I do hope that one day, i can have someone from my immediate family go with me and experience the same thing i have. One can hope, Right?

Just today Kreg and i were talking about the length of time that he and i have "been together" for. The time before we were married.
Kreg and i were technically a couple a short time after we met, in October of 2001.
If i remember correctly we met the spring/summer of 2001 but he and i were in toxic relationships, and then weirdly at about the same time our old relationships ended and he and i became friends.
Then almost overnight we were in a relationship. Things happened crazy fast for us. I knew from early on that i would marry him, i just didn't expect it so soon!lol
I had just turned 20 in June. So i was only 20 for 4 months before we were technically "together", not even a full 4 months!lol He totally robbed the cradle. {wink wink}
So my point is, that this October we will have been together as a couple for 9 years.
That freaks me out a little.lol
But its awesome too.
9 years. I have spent the last almost 9 years with the same person, loving the same person, caring for them, adoring them, and getting along with them. I cant wrap my head around it.
9 years. But married for 8. That's one more thing that i never thought i would do.

The funny thing is, a month later i got pregnant. His mom doesn't think its funny. But we both do. lol We have a weird sense of humor like that.
And after that, in a period of 10 months we went from being a new couple to being a family with a baby.
10 months folks. And my life took a direction i never expected it too.
And 9 years later, we are still here, still in love, still making it work.
I could spend another 60 years with this man. Hands down! He's just that great.

Another cool thing.
Kreg has been at his job now for 3 years. He did 9+ years with an airline before that though.
3 years ago we took a leap of faith. HUGE leap of faith. And he changed jobs.
On my birthday nonetheless!
He was starting from the low job on the totem pole, and in a period of 9 months he worked up to be in administration. It was a long shot, and his boss took a chance on him.
And its opened so many doors for us. Its taken his career in places we didn't think it would. And theres more doors being opened to him as we speak. It was hard, it still is, but he works his heart out and i couldn't be prouder of him! I hope this is just the beginning for him.
Congrats Kreg! Im proud of the provider you are, im proud of your work ethic, im proud of the leader you have become, and im proud of all your hard work. Thank you most of all.

One more cool thing to mention. Well, kinda not cool, but kinda is cool.lol
Im going to be 29 on Friday.
And whats even cooler is that my birthday is exactly 6 months away from Christmas. Dude, how awesome is that?! Every 6 months i have a birthday or Christmas.lol
I don't know how i feel about it though. Just another day? I don't know.
It will be my last year in my 20's. And i remember how wonderful it felt to be in my 20's out of my teens, how grown up i felt. I have spent my 20's with my amazing hubby too. Thats pretty awesome. But now going into my 30's kinda scares me a bit.

As a kid i never understood why my parents called their birthdays "just another day". Now i kinda get it.lol Although, Kreg does go to great lengths with the little money he has to make my birthday special. And im very grateful for that.
So this year, what will we do? I don't know. Maybe see a movie? If we can find a sitter.
I dont need presents or to have a big to do be made about it. Simple and heartfelt, being around people who love me matters most at this point. That's what would make it special for me.
He picked me up a special cake. Its a Klaus cake. Its amazing. Its like cake crack. Just you wait! You'll say the same thing after you eat it.

Klaire is having a fun summer so far. Her and i are going to go hit the pool and park here in a few days. The movies have been fun so far! We have loads of camping planned too, so we cant wait for that to happen.
Kreg has been great at taking her for a few minutes here or there when im needing a sanity minute. I do see how much she misses school though and it breaks my heart. Only a few months until she goes back though, as sad as it will make me she misses her friends alot and cant wait to go back. And im perfectly fine with that.

Ive been working on uploading TONS of pictures so i can post them. So keep an eye out!
Well, that's it for now, there's more birthdays coming, a baptism, special pictures, special luncheon for Klaire, a fun birthday outing for her, drive in movies, and loads of other fun stuff!
